Emissions & Epochs

Epochs

Alandale runs on a weekly clock. One epoch = 7 days. At each epoch boundary:

  • the previous epoch's votes are finalized and its emissions become claimable;

  • a fresh batch of LUTE is minted for the new epoch;

  • voting opens again for the coming week.

Voting power, emissions, and fee/bribe accounting are all measured per epoch. If you want your vote to count for a given week, cast it before the epoch flips.

The emission schedule

LUTE is emitted every epoch by the Minter. The schedule has two phases:

  • Starting rate: 10,000,000 LUTE per week, 2% of the 500,000,000 LUTE initial supply.

  • Bootstrapping (epochs 1–12). Weekly emissions increase 1.5% per epoch, front-loading liquidity, volume, and fee revenue while the market is young.

  • Maturation (epoch 13+). Weekly emissions decay 1% per epoch, tapering inflation as the protocol matures.

  • Tail floor. Weekly emissions never fall below 0.2% of circulating supply (total supply minus locked LUTE), so LP incentives never reach zero.

The Overview dashboard charts this: the emissions curve rises, peaks at epoch 12, then decays.

These parameters come from the deployed Minter contract. The interface reads the live weekly emission and active_period directly from it, so what you see is always the on-chain truth.

No rebase

Some ve(3,3) DEXes (Velodrome, Aerodrome) pay lockers a weekly rebase to offset dilution from new emissions. Alandale does not. Emissions go to liquidity providers (95%) and the team (5%, which the team locks into its permanent veLUTE position rather than selling — see LUTE Tokenomics); nothing is minted or redistributed to lockers automatically. The return for locking is the fee + bribe cash flow from voting, not supply protection.

Who gets emissions

Emissions are not paid to everyone who holds LUTE. They are paid to liquidity providers, and only in pools that won votes that epoch:

  • A pool with zero vote weight receives zero emissions.

  • Within a winning pool, your share of emissions is your share of that pool's (staked) liquidity.

  • For concentrated positions, only in-range liquidity earns; an out-of-range position earns nothing until price comes back to it. See Concentrated Liquidity.
