Your First Swap

A swap trades one token for another. This is the quickest way to see the app working end-to-end.

Before you start: connect your wallet and hold a little ETH for gas plus some of the token you want to sell.

Steps

1. Open the Swap view from the sidebar.
2. Choose the token you pay (top) and the token you receive (bottom). Use the flip button to swap the direction.
3. Enter an amount to pay. The You receive figure updates live from an on-chain quote.
4. (Optional) Compare routes. Toggle AMM vs CL in the card header to see which engine quotes a better price, and pick it.
5. Start small. For your first trade, use a tiny amount to confirm everything works.
6. Approve (first time only). Trading a token for the first time needs a one-time approval; confirm it in your wallet.
7. Swap and confirm the transaction. When it lands, the status shows a confirmation with the transaction hash.

What just happened

Your swap executed, with a slippage guard, against a live router: RouterV2 for the AMM route, or Algebra's SwapRouter for the CL route. The small fee you paid doesn't stay in the pool: it's routed to the veLUTE voters who backed it. Want to be on the receiving end? → Lock, Vote & Claim.

Troubleshooting

Symptom	Likely cause / fix
Quote shows —	No liquidity on that route for the pair; try the other route or another pair.
"Approve" keeps appearing	The approval tx hasn't confirmed yet; wait for it before swapping.
Transaction reverts	Slippage exceeded (price moved), or insufficient balance/gas. Retry with a smaller amount.
Wrong network	Switch your wallet to Robinhood Chain (4663).
