Classic Pools

Classic pools are the simplest way to provide liquidity: you deposit both tokens of a pair, and your liquidity spans the entire price curve. It's always "in range," so it always earns, with no management required.

Two curve types

Curve
Formula
For

Volatile (vAMM)

constant product x · y = k

Uncorrelated pairs (e.g. LUTE/WETH)

Stable

Solidly stable curve x³y + y³x = k

Pegged pairs (e.g. stablecoin/stablecoin)

The stable curve concentrates liquidity around a 1:1 price, giving pegged pairs much lower slippage than a plain product curve. The interface tags each pool Stable or Volatile and picks the right math automatically.

Providing classic liquidity

  1. Open a pool from the Pools list to reach its detail page.

  2. On the Add tab, enter an amount for one token; the pair amount fills to match the pool's ratio.

  3. Approve each token the first time, then Add liquidity. You receive an LP token representing your share.

  4. Stake your LP token into the pool's gauge to start earning LUTE emissions (if the pool has a gauge and won votes).

To exit, use the Remove tab to withdraw your share back into the two underlying tokens.

Reading the Pools table

Each row shows, live from chain:

  • Pool: the token pair and whether it's Stable or Volatile.

  • APR: emissions APR (shown as ~ when projected from votes; — when a pool has no active emissions).

  • TVL: total value locked, derived from reserves and on-chain prices.

  • Liquidity: the reserves of each token.
