Swapping

Swapping on Alandale trades one token for another. Every swap pays a small fee, and on a MetaDEX that fee doesn't stay with the pool; it flows to the veLUTE voters who backed it.

The Swap view: pick tokens, choose a route, execute

Two routes: AMM and CL

Alandale has two liquidity engines, and the Swap card lets you route through either with a toggle:

Route
Engine
Best when

AMM

Classic v2 pools (RouterV2)

Simple, deep full-range pools

CL

Algebra concentrated-liquidity pools (QuoterV2 + SwapRouter)

Concentrated pools quote a better price

The interface fetches a live quote for the selected route (RouterV2.getAmountsOut for the AMM route, Algebra's QuoterV2 for the CL route) and shows what you'll receive before you sign. Flip the toggle to compare the two and take the better one.

How to swap

  1. Pick the token you pay and the token you receive.

  2. Enter an amount. The You receive figure updates live from the on-chain quote.

  3. (Optional) Switch the AMM / CL route toggle to compare prices.

  4. Approve the token the first time you trade it (a one-time allowance).

  5. Swap and confirm in your wallet.

Trades execute against the live routers with a slippage guard, and settle on-chain in your own wallet; Alandale never custodies your funds.

Fees, slippage & price impact

  • Fee: a small percentage of each swap. On concentrated pools the fee is dynamic: it adjusts to volatility and volume in real time.

  • Slippage: the price can move between quote and execution; the swap reverts if it would exceed the slippage tolerance.

  • Price impact: large trades against a shallow pool move the price against you. Split large orders or use a deeper pool.

Where the fee goes. The protocol keeps nothing; the fee on your trade is handed to the voters who backed that pool. Lock and vote (see Voting) to be on the receiving end of it.
